Mil's (Lisbon International Music Networking) third edition happens between March 27th and 29th in Lisbon. The event has an amazing programming and a great lineup for the ones who seek new music and are looking forward to connect with the overseas market.
SIM São Paulo is a partner once again with the portuguese event – that's becoming one of Europe's leading music conferences – and has scheduled a special program for this year's edition.
Fabiana Batistela, director of SIM, and Dani Ribas, director of DATA SIM, are in town to present the first numbers from a big research on São Paulo's live music market, besides presenting as well Mapa dos Festivais do Brasil (Brazilian Festivals Map), by Sympla, on a panel on March 29th. SIM's board council members can also be found in MIL's program: Fabrício Nobre, Juli Baldi, Juliano Zappia, Pena Schmidt e Veronica Pessoa will be around Cais do Sodré between lectures, classes, meetings and live shows, besides other brazilian music professionals, such as Letz Spindola, André Bourgeois and Thiago Piccoli.
Nothing is better than a party to connect with people. Night SIM at MIL will get everybody moving on thursday, March 28th, at Music Box, with performances from Jaloo, BadSista and Patrickto4 (who's also a recent member of SIM's board council).
Bridges built through MIL show us how Portugal is getting closer everyday to the international market, specially the brazilian industry, very well represented in this edition with the artists 2de1, Bike, O Novíssimo Edgar, Letrux, Ramonzin, Rubel e Venga Venga.
Brazil and Portugal are united on the event's opening night, on wednesday March 27th, with the meet up from brazilian Letrux and portuguese Lula Pena. To celebrate the legacy of the well known national music producer Carlos Eduardo Miranda: Noite Bacaneza, a party thrown by Fabrício Nobre, Letícia Spindola and portuguese radio host Henrique Amaro.
Both countries are collaborating to make a new exchange scenario possible. Portugal was on of SIM's 2018 highlights. MIL Cocktail Networking Party at Espaço Oi LabSonica hosted at Jardim Suspenso of CCSP brought some really interesting showcases: Filho da Mãe, Lavoisier and Surma; at JazzNosFundos, they hosted Noite Mil with portuguese acts Selma Uamusse and Conan Osíris and brazilian newcomers Bia Ferreira, LaBaq, Luisa e os Alquimistas and Vinícius Terra. Stunning Conan Osíris even went through an artistic residency at Estúdio Trampolin, where he collaborated with the brazilian acts: band Aeromoças e Tenistas Russas and singer Mel.
Last year's Mil edition brought together 2500 people, with more than 600 international delegates connected though lectures, masterclasses and showcases, that included 10 brazilian acts: Boogarins, Maurício Takara, O Gringo Sou Eu, Ricardo Dias Gomes, P.L.I.N.T, LaBaq, Ops, Cary Or Not Cary, Passo Largo e Aeromoças e Tenistas Russas. Last year Boogarins who are already known by portuguese audience attended an artistic residency.
