Bemti began his solo project in 2018 with the release of singles and the album “era dois” in August (the title can be translated as “I was” or “second era”). To bring to life his queer-synth-folk”, Bemti invited important voices from all the corners of Brazil: Johnny Hooker, Natália Noronha (lead singer of Plutão Já Foi Planeta), Marisa Brito and the Tuyo trio. Born in a farm in the state of Minas Gerais, the singer now lives in São Paulo. All songs in the album are Bemti compositions and the release is 100% independent. On its first month of release the album had more than 120 thousand plays on Spotify and it was quickly praised by critics for being an emotional cauldron of organic and electronic tones that find its base on the 10-string guitar ‘viola caipira’, rarely used out of traditional brazilian music and that Bemti defines as his “soul instrument”. He also plays the instrument on his alternative-rock band, Falso Coral.
