WHERE WILL SIM SÃO PAULO 2019 TAKE PLACE?
A. This year, SIM SÃO PAULO will once again be held at Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP), plus various music venues across the city.
WHAT ARE THE DATES AND WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF SIM SÃO PAULO 2019?
A. SIM São Paulo is a 5 day event in December that involves many activities which can be accessed with a single credential (PRO-BADGE). The programming starts on Wednesday, December 4th, with the Opening Event. On December 5th, 6th and 7th, the conference happen at CCSP, from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm, with talks, debates, showcases, speed meetings, workshops, meetups and other networking activities at PRO-AREA (networking lounge for accredited delegates) and SIM Award ceremony. Besides, from 9:00 pm, the city of São Paulo is taken over by a program full of concerts and parties in dozens of music venues across the city. On December 8th, there is the closing event of SIM São Paulo.
HOW CAN I ACCESS SIM’S PROGRAMMING?
A. Accredited delegates have free access to SIM’s complete program, regarding the the venues’ capacity. Some activities, like the daytime showcases, book releases, food court at CCSP, audio-visual program and art galleries are free and open to the general public. Who doesn’t have the credential (PRO-BADGE) can buy separate tickets to the concerts on the Night Program. The tickets for each night event are acquired directly with the people responsible for its production or the music venue. WHAT IS THE SIM SÃO PAULO’S VIRTUAL PRO-AREA?
A. It is SIM’s exclusive online social network for all PRO-BADGE holders. In the platform, you can find and communicate with other accredited delegates before the event, schedule your own meetings, promote your work, sign up for Music and Technology Startup Pitches and vote for SIM Award. I WANT TO PLAY AT SIM. WHO DO I TALK TO? WHAT TO I NEED TO DO?
A. There are two ways to play at SIM SÃO PAULO. In order to take part in the daytime showcases Centro Cultural São Paulo, you need to submit your music project until the date informed. To apply, carefully read the submission rules available at simsaopaulo.com. Artists and bands may also take part in the night program of SIM SÃO PAULO. You either need to be invited or to create your own party in order to play at such events, which are held in the partnering venues across town. Read more here.
I HAVE A COVER BAND, CAN I JOIN THE SHOWCASES?
A. Sadly not. The showcases are dedicated exclusively to artists who perform their original work.
CAN I SUGGEST OR EVEN ORGANIZE AN EVENING AT SIM SAO PAULO?
A. Of course! SIM is made possible with the support from music market agents. If you have a night program ideia, send it to us by filling out this form until August 31st. Agencies, producers, collectives, brands and enterprises in the music industry can create their own evening at SIM SÃO PAULO. The ideas will be evaluated by the SIM’s Consulting Board.
IF MY BAND GETS SELECTED FOR THE AFTERNOON SHOWCASES, WILL WE BE AWARDED A FEE, OR SUPPORT WITH TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION COSTS?
A. No, SIM São Paulo is a business fair, therefore artists are neither remunerated nor supported with travel/accommodation expenses for the daytime program during the event.
DOES SIM SÃO PAULO PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THE SHOWCASES?
A. Yes, a specialized technical team will be available during all performances: a PA technician, a monitor technicians, a lighting engineer, a VJ, roadies and runners.
However, it’s necessary to respect and to tally your music performance with the technical rider provided by SIM SÃO PAULO. The technical rider will be assembled by specialized professionals and with quality equipment, attempting to answer to the various live set formats. The full equipment list will be sent to the selected bands by October 31st.
I’LL PLAY AT SIM, DO I GET A CREDENTIAL?
A. The artists and bands selected for the daytime showcases get credentials for every musician that will perform, plus two credentials for their team. The night program artists get two credentials per band. Everyone that will play at SIM São Paulo can acquire extra credentials with a special price for artists, limited to three credentials per band. For more information, talk to the coordination of the program you’ll take part in.
CAN PEOPLE UNDER 18 JOIN SIM SÃO PAULO?
A. Under-18s are welcome at SIM SÃO PAULO, however some rules must be observed. Entrance is free from children and adolescents for the daytime showcases at do Centro Cultural São Paulo. Those aged above 14 need to acquire a credential (PRO-BADGE) in order to gain access into any area reserved for accredited delegates. In the nighttime events, most the of the participant music venues don’t allow the entrance of under-18s, even if they’re accompanied by their parents or someone responsible. Check the rules of every venue in the night program communication or the venue’s website.
WHEN AND WHERE CAN I PURCHASE MY CREDENTIAL (PRO-BADGE)?
A. You can acquire you credential here until December 7th. On December 5th, 6th and 7th, it is also possible to purchase your credential at the reception of SIM SÃO PAULO, inside the Centro Cultural São Paulo.
HOW MANY CREDENTIALS CAN EACH PERSON ACQUIRE?
A. As many as you like, as there is also a group buy option on the website. However, it’s compulsory to fill out the form in its entirety, including full name, ID or passport number, email, city, state and country for each individual in the group.
ATTENTION: For purchases of more than one ticket, fill out all the form correctly for each person. It’s with the information given at the purchase momento that the accredited delegate will be able to access the Virtual PRO-AREA or get your credential at CCSP, with the informations correctly printed (NAME and COMPANY). Be careful so that you won’t be called Mark when your name is actually John.
I MISSPELLED MY NAME/COMPANY NAME OR SOME OTHER INFORMATION OF MY CREDENTIAL AT THE MOMENT OF PURCHASE. HOW CAN I EDIT IT?
A. Unfortuntely, we don’t have access to edit the informations on your credential. Just log in to Sympla’s website with the same e-mail you used at the purchase and access “Meus Ingressos”. Afterwards, click on the option “Trocar Titularidade” and follor the steps indicated on the screen. In case of doubts, access this step by step: http://bit.ly/TrocaSelfService. The change can be made only once per ticket, and only until 24 hours before the beginning of te event. If you have any doubts, you can write to email@example.com.
MY INFORMATION IS WRONG ON THE VIRTUAL PRO-AREA, HOW CAN I EDIT IT?
A. You can click on EDIT PROFILE and edit some of your info. However, it’s important to remember that the access to SIM’s Virtual PRO-AREA is linked to the purchase of a PRO-BADGE. For that reason, some info, like your name, e-mail, language, company, activity and country are imported from the purchase and can’t be edited in the Virtual PRO-AREA.
WILL CREDENTIALS BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE EVENT?
A. Yes. From December 5th to 7th, from 10:00 am to 07:00 pm, at the reception of SIM SÃO PAULO, inside the Centro Cultural São Paulo.
WHAT DOES THE PRO-BADGE GIVE ME ACCESS TO?
A. The PRO-BADGE is your only ticket to all activities at SIM SÃO PAULO. It contains 01 credential with your name, 01 wristband and 01 bag, the SIM BAG. With this you have access to the opening event, daytime showcases, SIM Nights, conferences, networking cocktails, the event’s PRO-AREA, Virtual PRO-AREA, open and closed speed meetings, meetups, music and technology startup pitches, SIM Award, as well as preferential entrance at the art galleries and audiovisual programs. I LIVE IN ANOTHER STATE/ABROAD; ARE THERE PARTNERING HOTELS AND TRANSPORT COMPANIES?
A. We will shortly announce our partners for air, land and city travel as well as accommodation in São Paulo.
WHERE CAN I FIND SIM SAO PAULO’S FULL PROGRAM?
A. The full program will be on our website. It starts to be announced in September, and new events can be announced up until December 12th.
DOES SIM SÃO PAULO OFFER HALF PRICE FOR STUDENTS?
A. SIM SÃO PAULO is not a music festival, but an business fair and conference instead. That’s why we do not offer half-price credentials (PRO-BADGE). However, we do offer discounted prices for music and music business students from partners educational institutions. Check out whether your educational organization is one of our partners and ask for your discount. In order to find out more, just email firstname.lastname@example.org. There’s no discount for institutions with no partnership.
Some shows and night programs offer 50% discounts. If you already have the credential, you don’t need to buy tickets for the night events, because your entrance is free in every event (depending on the venue’s capacity).
I JUST WANT TO ATTEND A SINGLE TALK.
A. Access to the talks is restricted to accredited delegates (holders of the PRO-BADGE credential). There are no single tickets for specific talks.
I JUST WANT TO ATTEND ONE SINGLE CONCERT.
A. There will be ticket sales for all nighttime events at SIM São Paulo. Check out the program at simsaopaulo.com, or the event app, and find out where and how to buy your ticket. Admission is free for the daytime showcases at the CCSP, and the full program can also be found in our official digital channels.
HOW DO I COLLECT MY CREDENTIAL?
A. Take your receipt or ID to the reception of SIM SÃO PAULO at the Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP), from December 5th to 7th, between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm. You will receive your credential, bag and a wristband. The credential and the wristband must be worn every day throughout the event.
DOES THE CREDENTIAL GIVE ME ACCESS TO ALL PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND CONCERTS?
A. Yes. Just present your credential and wristband in order to gain access into all talks, debates, PRO-AREA, concerts and other activities. The security people do not know who you are. Please do not insist on entering without both identifiers. In case you have any questions, please talk to the event producers at the SIM reception at the CCSP.
I HAD TO TAKE MY WRISTBAND OFF/MY WRISTBAND CAME OFF, CAN I GET ANOTHER ONE?
A. Of course. Just present your old wristband at the event reception inside the Centro Cultural São Paulo in order to register what happened and to get a new one. Without your cut or torn wristband it will not be possible to claim a new one. It’s worthwhile to remember that it’s extremely important to take both your credential and your wristband in order to take part in all the activities of SIM SÃO PAULO, including the evening concerts and parties.
IF I EXIT THE EVENT AREA, AM I ALLOWED TO RETURN?
A. Holding your PRO-BADGE and the event’s wristband, you can exit and return every activity of SIM São Paulo at any time you want, regarding the location’s capacity! For example, if you leave one of the conferences of concert/party and the capacity is reached, you won’t be able to return.You may exist and return to all SIM Sao Paulo spaces and activities any time you wish as long as you have your credential and wristband.
I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO ATTEND THE EVENT, CAN I TRANSFER MY PRO-BADGE TO SOMEONE ELSE OR CLAIM A REFUND?
A. Such name transfer can be realized only by the purchase holder. All you need to do is log into Sympla’s website with the same e-mail from the purchase and access the title “Meus Ingressos”. Then, click the option “Trocar Titularidade” and follow the steps indicated on the screen. In case of any doubts, access this step by step: http://bit.ly/TrocaSelfService. The transfer can only be done once per ticket, and is permitted up to 24 (twenty-four) hours prior to commencement of the event. The doubts can be sent to email@example.com.
In case you wish to cancel your purchase, the fee will be reimbursed within 7 (seven) days of purchase, and up to 48 (forty-eight) hours prior to commencement of the event. Such request must also be done via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I HAVEN’T RECEIVED AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION OF MY ENROLMENT.
A. In case you didn’t receive your confirmation, you can access it at any moment through Sympla’s app, available at App Store or Play Stores, or through Sympla’s website (on the button “Meus Pedidos”). You can also reach for contact through email@example.com. Don’t forget to check your spam box, maybe the confirmation is there. Sympla and SIM SÃO PAULO are not responsible for any tickets acquired in non-official ticket office.
WHAT ARE SPEED MEETINGS?
A. They are short meetings aimed at connecting professionals from various parts of the world. In order to take part of the speed meetings, you need a SIM SÃO PAULO credential and to make a booking at the Virtual PRO-AREA.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OPEN AND CLOSED SPEED MEETINGS?
A. Open speed meetings are 20-minute meetings that can be booked between accredited delegates and take place in the event’s PRO-AREA between December 5th and 7th, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Just access the Virtual PRO-AREA, search the profiles of the accredited delegates and request a meeting. You suggest the time and the place and wait for a confirmation from the other party.
The closed speed meetings, on the other hand, are 10-minute meetings with music buyers from various Brazilian states and countries invited by SIM São Paulo. These meeting are also booked on the Virtual PRO-AREA. That’s where accredited delegates can see the professionals, times and tables available. Search for someone relevant for your music business/project and request a meeting. They take place at the CCSP, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
ARE THERE PARKING FACILITIES?
A. There are no parking facilities at the Centro Cultural São Paulo, and we have no parking partners anywhere near the event. We recommend that you either take public transport or cycle. There is a metro station (Vergueiro, blue line) next to the CCSP, and there are also bicycle docking facilities.
IS THERE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS?
A. Yes, most of the spaces in Centro Cultural São Paulo and most of the SIM SÃO PAULO partnering venues are equipped and prepared to welcome disabled and visually impaired visitors. IS THERE A BRAZILIAN SIGN LANGUAGE TRANSLATION AVAILABLE?
A. Yes, SIM offers a professional translator for the Brazilian Sign Language during the entire event at CCSP. If you need his help, just as for one of the people at our team during the event.
IS THERE SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATION AVAILABLE?

Every year, as part of our occupational program, we select people who wish to enter the music market to work during the event, learning hands-on with experienced professionals, and build a CV in the area.
