Mastercard presents SIM São Paulo's seventh edition

Mastercard presents, through culture incentive laws, the seventh edition of São Paulo’s International Music Week, the biggest meeting poning for music in Latin America, that will happen from December 4th to 8th of 2019.

Platform that gathers professionals from all over the world in the capital of São Paulo to debate perspectives and present trends of the music market, SIM São Paulo 2019 will have over 90 panels at its conference, besides meetings, meetups, and networking cocktails. Having the main base at Centro Cultural São Paulo, the event offers over 400 live performances with the daytime showcases and the night program, that will occupy around 50 main venues of the city, showing the diversity of global contemporary music and its trends for the next years. There are 40 thousand people expected circulating through the 5 days of event.
According to Sarah Buchwitz, vice-president of Marketing and Communication for Mastercard Brasil and Cone Sul, Mastercard, in 2019 launched its sound identity, that adds a powerful dimension to the brand’s identity, being a critical component for the way people recognize Mastercard today and in the future. “Wherever the consumers engage with Mastercard around the world - be it in physical, digital or voice environments - the distinctive melody of Mastercard will provide a simple and straight familiarity”, explains Sarah.

“Mastercard’s sponsorship to São Paulo’s International Music Week reinforces the importance of music for the company. The debate on the trends of national and international music is of extreme significance for the sound to grow alongside the accelerated changed we witness today in our world”, complements the executive.

During SIM, the Rooftop Garden of Centro Cultural São Paulo becomes the Mastercard Space, a stage of disputed networking cocktails where companies and national and international trade missions present their projects and artists, with special showcases prepared for the audience of fans and SIM’s accredited delegates.

There will be hosted meetings promoted by Instituto Nacional de la Música (INAMU) from Argentina (with Julieta Laso, Nación Ekeko and Sol Pereyra), by Lisbon Internacional Music Network (MIL - with Fado Bicha, PAUS and Blu Samu), by SODEC, support agency for culture industries of Quebec, Canadá (with AIZA, Pierre Kwenders and Land of Talk) and by British Council, (with Ms Maurice, Ashley Henry and Lone Taxidermist). Another good promise is the coquetel de networking da União Brasileira de Compositores (UBC) with performances of band Mulamba, singer Romero Ferro and group Canto Cego. 
Another highlight of SIM 2019’s program is Circuit Mastercard that will present a series of special performances in the night program of the event, on December 5th, 6th and 7th. On Thursday, from 9:00pm, Cine Joia welcomes Maglore (BA), Ana Cañas (SP) and Rodrigo Alarcon (SP) with participation of Abacaxepa (SP). On Friday, from 9:00pm, Venue welcomes Tulipa Ruiz & João Donato (SP), Kazy Lambist (France) and Ziminino (BA). On Saturday, from 8:00pm, Teatro Sérgio Cardoso opens its doors for Liniker e os Caramelows (SP) part. Bia Ferreira (SE), ELSZ (Australia), Ms Maurice (UK) and Julieta Laso (Argentina)

To mark the closure of São Paulo’s International Music Week, Mastercard will also offer powerful performances, for free and outdoors for 9 thousand people on Sunday, the 8th. With support of Secretaria Municipal de Cultura (Culture Municipal Secretary), a big stage at Praça da Luz, Downtown, will  welcome Drik Barbosa, Throes + The Shine (Portugal) and Emicida, in his second live performance of his new album. Put on your agenda now: it starts at 3:00pm.
